By the end of this eight-part class, participants will be able to recite and understand, in Aramaic, the eight Beatitudes of Jesus from his Sermon on the Mount. Aramaic is the language that Jesus spoke when he walked the earth and learning his words in his language can give us a deeper understanding of what he taught. Learn the Lord's Prayer in Aramaic
By the end of this eight-hour workshop (2 hours per class for 4 Thursdays) participants will be able to recite and understand the Lord’s Prayer in Aramaic, the language that Jesus spoke when he walked the earth. Participants will also learn to sing these Aramaic words in several lovely melodies, and we will use gentle repetitive movements to dance the Prayer in a deeply meditative celebration.
No singing or dancing abilities are needed to engage in this practice.
Our aim is to embody the Prayer, to pray with our entire being.

We have been invited to perform a portion of the Lord’s Prayer in Aramaic. Our choir will perform Abwoon d’bashmaya (Our Father who art in Heaven) and Teytey Malkutakh (Thy Kingdom come). Come pray with us!
You will also hear from local musicians sharing their works in a celebration of Black History.
